We don't need more IITs or IIMs, we need more Western style universities with their own internal institutes of technology, management etc. The world is becoming more interdisciplinary. That means you need to be good at multiple skills. You need to be technical and entrepreneurial. You might also need to be technical at multiple fields like in healthcare - you need to know how to code and understand genetics. Our education system slots people into specific institutes and torture the student in them with no choice for them to explore their own capabilities. This leaves them either underskilled or underequipped for the modern world. Western style universities breaks those barriers down. It let's students become multi disciplinary, develop well rounded perspectives etc.

@StarSprangledBanner Humanities in IITs are a sorry excuse and cannot be considered as a full Humanities or Arts Department. I'm sorry, IITs are not a full university. Offering a single BS in Economics does qualify a Univerisity as one that has a humanities.
