Re: Your 50 word Edit. I want to express my disappointment at that Editorial. The editorial could have been an opportunity to highlight the structural and institutional deficit in our Justice system. There's 1.2 million pending criminal cases in Gujarat. The courts in Gujarat on average processes less than 2000 cases/month (cumulatively). Public support for flogging only shows the deep distrust of our Justice system to deliver justice in time. The Print, which prides itself as an institution, should have highlighted these deep institutional issues rather than just condemn the public flogging.

@thekingofoktimes our judiciary is already half way there to becoming non-existent through it's sheer incompetence. That is my point.

@lookintoit4537 absolutely on target with regards to politicians! But the Judiciary itself is complicit. The current system benefits them the most. There's no accountability and they get to freely choose who they want. That's how we get a higher Judiciary where 50% of it's members have one blood relations in the Justice system or 80% when you include inlaws.
