  1. The recent humanitarian disaster of a second Covid wave got me thinking a lot. I am a NRI, I have an emotional connection with my country and I absolutely want to grow and succeed and I hope to see it within my lifetime. We are at a crisis and a juncture - people are dying because they are unable to breathe. That symbolic of massive paralysis of the social fabric of this country and that paralysis has now been laid bare in front of us as a pandemic. We need to be extremely honest, unless we are honest, we will keep repeating mistakes. We Indians, do not understand our society, our government, our legal system, bureaucracy and more importantly scale of problems we face. And amazingly, we still don't understand and refuse to study it. It was very disappointing to watch people celebrating Holi, going to Kumbh, weddings, partying. It was absolutely shameful and infuriating to watch NDTV host a bloody solutions summit while cases rapidly rising in Maharashtra - key official who are supposed to manage this crisis were on Bloody News Channel instead of making preparations, increasing testing, making arrangements for migrants. I was horrified in late March when Uddhav was pondering, if there should be a lockdown or not in Mumbai. I was horrified when the CM of Delhi would rather be on NDTV doing press conferences than starting stockpiling process. I was angry when PILs were filed in the courts - in the middle of a crisis, we are pulling away decision making resources to attend courts. I was extremely angry at Amit Shah's arrogance at throwing stats like "It is under what we expect" (Bloody hell, a Million deaths is just a mere statistic). I was absolutely angry that our political parties are still engaging in trench warfare on News Channel - they still are. I was horrified to watch your Bengal coverage and no matter what the Election Commission still wanted to proceed with elections and I am in absolute shock at the lack of coverage for Panchyat Raj elections in UP - We are in a middle of pandemic and our largest state with abysmal health infrastructure is conducting elections in of it's most vulnerable rural population. How can anyone tolerate this madness? Have we lost our sense of responsibility? Where is the seriousness? You can blame Modi sarkar for this mess but if we stop there then we have learnt nothing. This is a complete breakdown of everything and everyone is paying for it including the NRIs who haven been rejected and thrown away. We need more people to talk about these things. We need people to be educated about our government, governance models the deep hole of trust.
