I believe Bhutan will likely move closer to India as the Chinese engage in land grabs along their border. The border talks would have likely been a way for Bhutan to explore it's options against incursions. CCP is very much an existential threat for Bhutan. BTW Doklam is a nightmare for anyone defending, it sits on a valley and both India and Bhutan control the heights. It is the exact opposite situation along far eastern Arunachal Pradesh like Wallong.
