  1. Because they are from the same set of families. It's nepotism. Our political classes - Judges, politicians, lawyers are reseeding a new caste system. One that locks the rest of the country from becoming part of the political system. You can't become a judge without a family name, you can't become a party secretary without a family name. You won't become a high court or a supreme court lawyer without a family name.

  3. CJI has done nothing to make the process more transparent beyond lecturing us about being ill informed about the process or the ills in our society. Neither Parliament nor the people have an input in it. Beyond the name and a basic resume we don't hear anything about the judges. We don't know what their jurisprudence is, we don't know how they are assesses beyond their family lineage, especially for Chief justices, we don't know what their plan is to reduce case loads.
