Comments by "M Shastri" (@libshastra) on "Gang rape video, violence: Why Manipur has had no political fallout for Biren Singh, Modi govt?" video.
Barkha goes on ABC (US Channel) and says Opposition and it's coterie is trying to score brownie points with Manipur and it is disgusting. Barkha has her reasons, she says, "Opposition instead of coming up with solutions is instead sloganeering" (quoted verbatim). Vir is engaging in the same long form sloganeering. Maybe Radia tapes veteran Vir can learn something from his fellow veteran, Barkha.

Kya good editorial. He offers no solution, just simply blames the Govt. Vir is exploiting a tragedy for political brownie points.

@Con_founded that's called scoring political brownie points. That's not an oped worth reading.

Nirbhaya happened because the Govt of the Day was very indifferent to the plight of the people. People were dying from bombs and terrorist incidents, Govt was mute and instead was trying to pin the blame of imagined Saffron Terror. When Police took some action, the Govt tried to openly scuttle it. Everyday crime was ignored, corruption was ignored. The Govt's inability to govern was evident. Nirbhaya channelized all that frustration.

Clarity of sloganeering.

@Narkvaneni that's true. The Anti Modi folks are pretty ill informed and live in their own bubble.

@chandrikasaha6301 Vir has no right to engage in hectoring then. Either he offers solutions or he simply shuts up. Comparing Manipur and something as horrific as Nirbhaya for political brownie points is insulting and humiliating to everyone who suffered.
