Man, Karnataka, Rajasthan is staring at UPA-2. High revdi spending, write offs everywhere, lagging capital expenditure, terrible governance etc. These guys want to drag us back into poverty.

BJP, unlike other parties (except DMK and BRS) doesn't throw the state's budget out the door and saddle it with unsustainable debt. Man, I remember UPA-2, that populism was much much worse than what's happening today with CG budget. We had free flowing tax policy, run away inflation, oil bonds whose debt payments we owed to OMCs were written off by OMCs, just general economic mismanagement. We are seeing that in several States now, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and now Karnataka. Modi govt pays for it's programs and doesn't force write offs to PSUs. That's not a revdi, that's welfare.

@roshanray8946 Jaankari ki zaroorzat nahi chahiye when it is obvious how it will end up. Revdis always comes at the expense of Capital expenditure. You don't need a Degree in Development Economics, just look at Karnataka. Within 6 months, Capital expenditure was cut by 20%. Bengaluru projects got stalled and are undergoing rebidding (means they don't have to pay for it). KN is looking at a subsidy bill of 52,000 Crores on top of the 17,000 subsidy under the previous regime. That's 3x. That is not good economics, that's just reckless. It is turning a surplus state into another Sri Lanka.

@bilalbaig8586 lol. We were fragile five, our Debt was pretty sustainable, we underperformed massively during an era of good growth, ignored infrastructure, saddled banks with NPAs, decided to retrospectively tax companies all the way back to 1960s. That was MMS managing the economy. The rest of your comment is just BS. Rural vote is changing, aspirations are changing, people are not beholden to their satraps like they used to.
