  1. Our post independence political masters deified Gandhi and extolled the outsized contributions while diminishing the contribution of others in our history textbooks. Gandhi wasn't a god, he was a very shrewd politician. Bhagat Singh's political contributions in satyagrahas was dropped and his contribution to our freedom struggle was reduced to a mere few sentences of him and his 'accomplices' dropping bombs in Parliament. We need better history textbooks
