  1. This is one of best examples of good procurements since Independence. This was large volumes order that justified investing in local manufacturing. There are long term maintenance contracts that allows for onshoring/local manufacturing of spares. It leverages local industries in the supply chain (or will). Now look at how the Army orders - Army orders 50 M4 APCs with no indication for future orders and then expects local production. How do you expect local productions when you order so little while paying so little? Guess what happened, Kalyani imported M4 as CKD kits and assembled them locally.

  2.  @vishalsheth1888  you got my point. Tejas was heading the same route until Modo govt put it's foot down on procurements (Also Mk1 and Mk2 programs saved it.)
