  1. DK is right but I believe he is being aspirational. The kind of respect for precedent or rules, genuine decision about issues are features we see in Political parties of Western Democracies hasn't been part of the Political culture in India. Politics in India has always been about Pomp and Circumstance in other words ceremony. You don't talk about bad things during a ceremony. But then again, this confidence projection from the BJP is only possible because the Opposition can't get it's house in order and is worse than the BJP. Imagine if the Congress criticized the National executive meeting of the BJP, the immediate response would be, "When was the last time the Congress conducted a AICC meeting? The Congress hasn't even bothered voting for a President" followed by interviews by Senior BJP leaders re-iterating that the BJP is all about discipline blah blah. The National Executive was never about BJP following aspirations of how a proper democractic party should run, it was all about projecting confidence and discipline. It's Pomp and Circumstance, a ceremony.
