  1. They are still paid for it. In all global economies part time jobs are still considered as employed. So the Govt is not wrong in it's count.

  2. That would be an interesting idea. I wouldn't call it flawed as much as saying their data has blindspots or things that can't be explained by data alone. Similarly every analysis has blindspots that tries to account for issues with data collection (some massage the data through assumptions, for eg CMIE doesn't consider part time employment as employment, but govt surveys do - both are valid assumptions). We shouldn't really rely on one indicator or one analysis.

  3.  @mridulagrawal6687  it's the collection method that creates blindspots rather than anything else. That's why you always look at methodology first.
