Let’s remind ourselves that Jairam Ramesh stalled (effectively canceled) infrastructure projects in the north east that made the borders volatile on the Indian side while giving the Chinese space to make their claims static.

@smd4051 Jairam Ramesh was special in that regard. He stalled projects approved by PMO. It takes a lot of authoritarianism to go against your own PMO. He was the Krishna Menon without the defense portfolio. Try to spend more time to understand the significance of actions of person who is not a defense Minister but decides on their behalf. Past Defense Ministers posture was at a time when we had very little support. That wasn’t the case with UPA-2. Americans were eager to build a strong relationship with us just as much as they are eager to strengthen the current relationship. P.S.: Nope. I have not build my opinions in the past 2-3 years. My opinions got more stronger with better and newer evidence of gross negligence and incompetence especially during UPA years.
