@Critic224 turbans are protected. They are recognized as Essential practice of the Sikh faith and hence protected by the Constitution. Sikhs codified their personal laws in line with our constitution and they enjoy protections accordingly. Hijab is neither codified nor is it in line with the constitution because Mullahs prefer not to codify anything.

We have this wonderful jurisprudence called "Essential practice". Courts have used it for reforms and protecting freedom of religion. If this Muslim community feels strongly about hijab then they should argue that it's an essential practice in their petition in the Karnataka High court. Dress codes can't go against essential practices. Every community has used this precedent for protecting their identity.

@meetankush listen to yourself and how crazy you sound. Courts have some common sense and have ruled against bad practices. SC ruled against female genital mutilation as non essential practices, the Bohra community accepted that judgement. Our courts despite their dysfunction do pass sound judgements when it comes to constitutional issues.

Thanks!

@meetankush I don't think you read the judgment at all. I'd encourage you read the docket.

@meetankush You need to read the docket. I don't think you have read a court docket.
