Judges whine, Delhites finally realize their city is no where near global standards, Govt scrambles to "curb pollution", meanwhile farmers keep burning stubble, the farmers lobby intent on maintaining their feudal system keep protesting at the border for the status quo and contribute to the utter gassing of people. This too shall pass and just like clockwork next year we'll have the same conversation.

@deeprai8716 nonsense. If Andhra farmers can do it then your family can too. The difference between Punjabi +Haryanvi & Andhra farmers are their demands. Andhra farmers demand money to help sustain their transition meanwhile Punjabi+Haryanvi farmers demand no change. You ought to blame yourself and your farming community for keeping you stuck where you are.

@deeprai8716 yet their incomes are increasing, yields are increasing, exports are increasing. Suicides haven't increased rather stayed stable. The least you can do is learn to read and consume data.

@StarSprangledBanner smart Cities is actually getting things done. Indore, Mysore Coimbatore, Amritsar etc are good examples. Their implementations are driven towards local needs. In Amritsar and Mysore they used smart Cities for improved garbage collection, Indore used that to improve drainage and redevelop Chappan similar to Chandni Chowk and Coimbatore used it to revive their lakes and build waterfront. It's implementation is different for different cities.

@MayankSingh-qg4zv sure, I may not know much about farming however that still doesn't excuse Punjabi+Haryanvi farmers to advocate for change. They clearly demonstrated that they have the power and they used that to maintain their status quo. Nothing prevents them from making demands that Govt. help funds their transition. They still haven't demanded anything beyond scrapping farm laws, so it is still a kettle calling a pot black. They are still very much part of the problem and much worse since they don't bring solutions to the table.

@manthanmodi7712 I think Smart Cities is a pretty darn good program. The best thing about it is, everything detail of that program is available online including the budget allocations, bids, project status, implementation details and operation metrics. It is refreshing to see that level of transparency from any entity of Govt of India.
