What a shame. Prejudices are so deep in Hindu and Sikh society that the depressed/oppressed communities are turning to Christianity to find that sense of belonging. It's especially shameful that the Valmiki community are lower caste, that's the level of reverence we hold towards the Ramayana's author. Unless Hindu and Sikh societies address their (our) prejudices and become more inclusive, we will keep seeing more conversions. No law can stop that.

@ericme5715 sure even if you exclude missionaries, it won't change the outcome. They might go with Buddhism or start their own religion. As long as we are exclusionary and prejudicial against our lower caste, we will drive them away from our religion. Why would anyone tolerate generation after generation of discrimination?

@spikespiangel why can't we bring that down to 1 generation instead of waiting for 7 generation? And Sikhs have their own form of exclusionary caste system.
