Basically, 2024 depends on how votes are split outside the Hindi Heartland. Maharashtra, Karnataka and West Bengal is are going to be the states to watch closely and carefully. The thing about opposition unity is that it can spectacularly backfire. Tripura is a prime example, Congress + CPI got into an alliance, Congress ended up decimating CPI - Congress votes did not transfer, CPI votes went to TIPRA/BJP. This is why Mamta doesn't want to get involved with the Congress at all in West Bengal. I think NCP is looking to gobble up Congress and Uddhav Sena but then again, it can backfire and end up decimating the NCP.
