  2. 5 years is a long time to find a successor. In 2012 Modi was nobody, by late 2013 he became the cadre’s favourite and high command couldn’t ignore him. In 2014 he built the momentum.

  3. It depends on the Congress. If they implode like the Punjab Congress does (it’s likely), then BJP might be able to eek a win. Also let’s not discount Yedurappa I think a hung parliament is likely.
