  1. I doubt it would split. The BJP didn't split under Advani, it will less likely split after Modi. I think everyone in the BJP realizes this is a make or break election and I don't think they will let it go that easily. But yes, BJP needs to invest in maintain some level of continuity in the organization - keep producing good leaders, campaigners etc.

  3. Rathee has a following prior to CTC. He is already preaching to the converted and he is the only guy popular in the Left circles. Essentially Rathee commands a monopoly in leftist circles.
