@sleepingduty2987 free palatial housing, govt paid servants, free car, priority access to Kendriya Vidyalaya (KVs are darn good schools), dearness allowances, priority access to first class in Railways, discount on taxes etc.

We need to get rid of Poverty of Aspirations. And that starts with shaming folks who leave their well paying jobs to pursue IAS especially through UPSC rather than lateral entry. That’s not a sacrifice for service but rather a cynical attempt to latch on Govts generous benefits. Also I strongly believe all Babus must be constantly disciplined. The govt must be extremely dictatorial with the bureaucracy. That’s also how Chanakya managed the state.

We need a dictatorship of the bureaucracy. Strip freedoms of bureaucrats and IAS class until they comply with State and Janata.

@nameisbondjagatprakashbond4891 K M Munshi - member of Constituent Assembly, Chairman of Fundamental Rights and Minority rights committee, founder of VHP, the forgotten liberal. Today liberals call him an extremist because he was vehemently against appeasement.

I want Modiji to be Romeo with me, the Janata and Stalin + Xi + Kim Jong Un with the Babudom.

@pp_01123 yes. You are reading that right. Nehru sidelined him for rebuilding Somnath, he switched parties and joined Swatantra (not Jan Sangh). He was worried that Congress under Nehru was making the same mistake as Gandhi during Khilafat. With the decline of Swatantra Party and his frustration with Nehru's Govt, he founded the VHP with Tara Singh (from Akali Dal) and with the Sangh's blessing. He was a through and through liberal but unlike Liberals today (who ape the west), he wanted Liberalism to be grounded in Santani values.

I encourage Modiji to become Mahishasura with the babudom. We need a real dictatorship with the bureaucracy. Whip the babudom into compliance with State and Janata.

@harshithgowda202 Babudom killed Lateral entry. TBH, I don't think Analysis of Bureaucracies in the West is a good idea. Why? 1. Well, the British did not transplant their bureaucracy in India when they ruled over us, they simply tweaked and changed the old bureaucracies that was present in India. UK doesn't (did not) have a Zamindari or Ryotwari system, we do (we did). 2. Bureaucracy are most functional when you build them according to native needs and complements local culture. When you emulate bureaucracies and ideologies of a foreign land, you end up colonizing your own citizenry rather than serving them. 3. You don't need comparisons with Western bureaucracies to figure out the failures within our own system. The failures of babudom are quite evident and obvious to see. Addressing those failures alone would be hugely transformational. 4. We have some metrics but we need to build better metrics to keep the bureaucracy accountable. We also need a PM who is nothing short of a dictator with the Bureaucracy.
