Comments by "M Shastri" (@libshastra) on "Raghuram Rajan’s ‘Hindu Rate of Growth’ warning u0026 what 60-year data tells us on growth-politics link" video.
I think economist like Raghuram Rajan could have matured up and realized that "Hindu rate of growth" is plain offensive. In 2023, this should have been obvious to someone like Raghuram Rajan but his arrogance blinds him. Wrt to his economic commentary, it is fear mongering and part concern. The issue is extracting his "concern" is like pulling teeth.

@sujithkvarghese5616 Urjit Patel improved AQRs significantly. AQRs failed to capture ILFS’s collapse and needed significant restructuring. You can’t simply blindly credit people for starting stuff.

@BharatThatIsIndia it is offensive nonetheless. That terms needs to be retired - no matter what kind of point it makes, denigrating a religion is not acceptable. HOW HARD IS IT UNDERSTAND THAT?

@Popularmango10245 Yes indeed. RR could have matured up and used a more neutral term but instead choose to offend a religion.

@sujithkvarghese5616 China is going through a deflationary cycle. China’s zero covid policy pretty much killed inflation.

@BharatThatIsIndia Of course it is derogatory. How is it acceptable to denigrate any religion in 2023?? This is the problem with people like you. You justify anything if it means you score political points and then turn around to call folks who call you out, "illiterate", "stupid", "emotional". This is just neo colonialism in it's finest form. You should realize many folks here are pretty well informed and extremely well educated.

@BharatThatIsIndia I guess it is very hard for you to understand.

@ప్రపంచం-ఱ6ఫ It's only because UC had access to education earlier than LCs and SCs. Many UCs are 3th or 4th gen literate. Many LCs are still about 1-2 generations behind. Education is the big equalizer. Many second gen educated Dalits are running 100 - 200 cr businesses, many of them are manufacturing.

@ప్రపంచం-ఱ6ఫ There is no Brahmin eco system. Dalits own businesses, they employ anyone who works for them. There are many OBCs businesses as well, look them up.

@JohnSmith-vn8dm Land is impossible. Electricity and other regulatory reforms especially wrt paperwork is the need of the hour. Our idiot politicians still think they can attract industries with high electricity prices

@vinay9837 fact is also that RR left a mess to be cleaned up by following Central Bankers. Credit where credit is due, Urjit did a fine job cleaning up AQR process.
