Guha is an historian? When did an untrained public intellectual become a historian? It's sad that we label every person that can write flowery Socratic words on history as historian. It really insults the decades of study and dedicated hard-work (field work, textual analysis, manuscript analysis etc.) of real historians. What's worse is we treat a Doon school grads who grew up with deep political connections as authoritative historian. No wonder our politics is so ridiculous, we keep labeling charlatans as experts in their adopted fields.

@atyanthdutt6632 that insults real historians. He's an economic grad with 0 scholarly work in history. He just happens to write books about it and we are gullible enough to treat it as authoritative. That's sad.

@atyanthdutt6632 Publishing book is not the same as publishing scholarly works and doing a thesis defense in front of a panel. I'm sorry, I have high standards for who is called a scholar and not. It's not delusional to ask for better.
