@ddavidson9642 ummm no. He advocated for converting to Islam to stick it up to the Congress. If at all anything, he weaponized religion just like Jinnah. He retracted after a lot of backlash. The thing about Periyar was not that his prognosis was incorrect but he was deeply exclusionary and racist. He took the British theories of martial race and took it to it's extreme. Periyar is rightly divisive. The current crop of politicians have rightfully moved away from him but softened his stances.

@Avinashm7 his prognosis was based on a British misinterpretation of caste and race in India. He believed Tamil brahmins had no place in Tamil society and was rather violent against them. In today's world he would be called a racist.

@Avinashm7 true. However to say that someone who belongs to upper caste like brahmins are not Tamils is exclusionary. It was based on British martial theory of race. He was right that caste discrimination was a bane on society however he was deeply wrong that Tamil brahmins were not Dravid. He was deep into that he deemed Congress as an Aryan party and advocated for conversion to Islam to stick it up to them. He is flawed individuals, let's have the humility to admit that.

Shekharji, can you do a CTC on the winter session of Maharashtra? It seems like the speaker was selected by voice vote. NCP MLA uses Ram vanvas metaphor to explain Uddhav absence and there seems to be chaos in COVID response.

Shekharji check out Subramanian Bharati and Bharatidasan. You can't talk about Periyar without Bharatidasan and you can't talk about Bharatidasan without talking about Subramanian Bharati
