That would be too political. The message should have just been " With the compliance of yada yada yada Federal law [ instert number ] we'd removed these contributors: [list of contributors] . Sorry for you inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding. " That would have been the best way to do the same thing. Even though it wouldn't be well received either, but at least it wouldn't have created such an outcry and it wouldn't ruin Linuses reputation.

@TheHorse_yes He is 100% wrong. He should be respecting it and giving it a praise. Because Russia had given them independence and had saved them at all. The Swedes didn't account for Fins, there was no interest for them to allow anyone else on their lands. Whilst Russia literally gave Fins not just the lands but the independence ( Fins themselves lived in a small tribe closer to Lapland) and there were Slavs and/or Rus people living at the shore. Russians gave them the land created their constitution etc etc. And granted independence in 1917. I think it was the first or the second directoriate by Lenin, to grant them independence. And with that kind of attitude I feel like their independence should be revoked now...
