I've always said that it's not possible right from the first time that I've heard about it... though, I've always said, even if they achieve less than 1% of their original plan, it would still be impressive... Having a wide skyscraper ,say a 100 meters long, could be cool, and it's actually doable... May be that was their original plan all along...

They know damn well that it doesn't work, but if they keep convincing themselves and others that they think, they might eventually somehow even make it, without having a slightest idea of how to do it. Same thing with Elizabeth Holmes. They are not stupid though

  5. Except that it's not really true. That GDP that is counted is not based on the actual output of a country but rather it is closely tied to markets with price of an economy being directly appointed from the higher ups. GDP PPP is a more precise metric, not which is not tied to that metric. And it is much larger than California.
