@gumdeo China wants more children now too - because they've recently realised that their one child policy will lead to a nation of pensioners. You just can't beat that central planning!

You know, you're not wrong in theory. In fascist Italy the trade unions (fascists call them corporations btw) ran the show with Mussolini at their head. So yes, fascism is control by the workers in a national system (as opposed to Marxism which is purportedly international) In practice, when you have socialism, you have to determine prices by fixing them (planned economy) and the only force powerful enough to do that is the government - so the meme is correct in practice

@Edax_Royeaux ' do you think a machine gun crew will spend that much personal money over 10 days to hold a line or do you think they'd rather give up and sellout their country? ' It would depend on what they are paid - if we assume a system where the ammunition isn't allocated for 'free' then the wage structure would be radically different also

People who play with definitions are usually being dishonest

The way I see it, the Nazis fit in the broad socialism umbrella but they are different to other socialists, like Marxists and Fascists, or Falangists. There seems to be this burning need for Marxists to get us to believe the NSDAP isn't socialist - why bother? We know they weren't Marxist - what's the problem?

He was trying to save/balance the economy - I reckon he would have and that's why he was punted

@TheImperatorKnight Excellent comment - couldn't agree more

@Edax_Royeaux I have a feeling the soldiers may want to defend themselves. Certainly the Singapore garrison regretted their surrender

'So you have to make here a tradeoff between either pandering to people who already agree with you, or attract new people who do not yet agree with you.' It might also be wise to factor in who is paying with likes and who is paying with £/$

Indeed, the mainstream seem to base their knowledge of the political spectrum on Bolshevik propaganda

Just as long as you are using the 'w' sound when speaking English!

It's a bit like importing weasels to deal with the snake problem. Then importing eagles to deal with the weasel problem etc. Ordinary people know that we shouldn't mess with complicated ecosystems - but they seem to think it's OK when we meddle with complicated economies?

Same. It's next to pointless to try to explain liberal economics to anyone with a sub 100 IQ - too much abstraction

If I buy a can of Coke, I gain the drink I wanted, and the merchant gets what he wanted. Both of us gain

@damyr Of course you're not any of those things - if you were, you might be wrong and we can't have that
1
@damyr Well, unlike you, I get things wrong all the time - let any observers make of that what they will (probably that I am sane, for one thing)

@TheImperatorKnight The funny thing is, even with that tax, you're probably still saving money
