  1. Stoics never say to have a stiff upper lip. This is the most common misconception of the stoic philosophy. The stoics believed in change of perception, not the avoidance of emotion. It's a bummer to see that the current public perception of Stoicism is so warped. I think if you actually read some, you'd see that's not the case. Either way, I hope you're ok.
