  1. Profiting and not solving problems are not mutually exclusive. In fact, it's unrealistic to think you can make large leaps in advancements without the need for major funding for R&D. I wish we could get over the "money equals bad" view because it's inevitable. Your idea of social maturity sounds like a naive utopia

  2.  @piku5637  We need to fix what we have but this is definitely not the answer. Letting the collective decide how I should live? Have you met the average voter? We would be so screwed.

  3. If you see an awareness campaign by a corporation that you work for, it is purely virtue signaling. You will be churned right out if they find out you are suffering from a mental illness as it hurts their bottom line. Save the mental health conversations for the therapist, not with HR or colleagues. They aren't there for that and will often betray you. Even if they don't, it's too big of a risk to take.
