What is an option for the skeptic atheist? If there is insufficient proof of a god for a religion to be based around, lying to oneself in order to attain happiness is not a virtue (I am not suggesting theists are lying to themselves). It is an ironic existence that is superficial because consciously and subconsciously the conformity is a lie to the athiest. Naturalist and physicalist atheists need something else. There is humanism but that isn't a religion. I think the overall title of the video should be "Why the Lack of meaning breeds mental illness". I don't think it needs to be a belief in religion. You quoted Victor Frankl and in that same book "The mans search for meaning" the only thing that kept him and many others alive in the concentration camps was the love of his wife. The thought of her was his last hope, which says to me that it does not need to be a religious journey to have meaning.
