One of the most terrifying sleep paralysis experiences I had was when der Grossman visited me; this was around the time that Marble Hornets was being produced, and one of my friends from high school interviewed his German-speaking grandpa in my neighborhood about his encounter while on an OSS mission in the Black Forest during WW2. Terrifying and reality warping entity. Fucked up my electronics multiple times before it finally lost interest. That was a long time ago. I have found that lying on my belly allows me to exit such a state due to retaining some movement capability, though sometimes I'll just roll with it to see what happens (it is how I met a visiting Goetic spirit that one time). A thing to note is that it is possible to astrally project with proper technique from a sleep paralysis state. I've done that a few times, though most voluntary OBEs started from a lucid dream that I exited.
