  1. A $1 Federal Reserve Note is worth less than 98¢ right now because of the accumulated, realized losses on the Fed's balance sheet, which are more than twice their capital. If they hadn't gone technically bankrupt, they'd be at 200x leverage. I'd rather not own too many dollars in this scenario.
