The vast majority of covid relief funds went into corporate coffers.

The only way they could enforce that kind of control with a CBDC is to have all of the grocery stores supply all of their inventory data. Ultimately, it is unenforceable without huge enforcement efforts.

CPI month-over-month number was slightly negative, so proces in aggregate supposedly did come down a fraction of a basis point.

@stephencuskley5251 The Bible did not prophesy the end of a fiat currency regime or a typical generational turning. The idea that Biblical prophesy can be applied to any given time is ludicrous. Christians have been claiming to be victims and seeing the signs of the End of Days (TM) for over a thousand years. The balance of probability is that y'all are still wrong.

@uncommonsense5876 May need to check the Cares Act numbers again, but as I recall, most of it went to corporations via the Paycheck Protection Program; some of them used it to pay their employees, but it dropped directly to the bottom line for most of them. The largest stimulus to ordinary people was the mortgage/rent forbearance; second largest was student loan forbearance; third largest was direct handouts and increased unemployment benefits. But that does not even consider the bailouts by the Fed buying up corporate bonds through special purpose vehicles -- global megacorps got to refinance tens of billions at about 1-2% APR and were oversubscribed.

@craigking391 similar concept, but the other way around: they'll just classify the sale however they have to to make the transaction verify and settle. There are too many people and businesses, and it would be unequal treatment under the law, and thus illegal, to make it work with only a select handful of conspiring corporations. If they set up adequate gatekeeping measures, the rollout will be too slow to be successful. If they roll it out quickly and successfully, they have to abandon gatekeeping.
