  1. I've been trying to explain and debunk all the conspiracy theories around FedNow for a year. So many people who should know better, e.g. Heresy Financial and George Gammon, have been spouting lies and ignorant nonsense. FedNow is basically a cheaper FedWire. The Fed does not have the infrastructure to handle hundreds of millions of accounts -- it currently handles accounts for ~10k institutions. It's hierarchical by design and cannot cope with a flattened system.
