  1. Rofl-chan, when your horse is out of stamina and breathing heavily, standing on grass (which does not grow in forest shade) will allow it to graze and very quickly regain full stamina. Also, you can drop gold ahead of an oncoming wave to distract them; the small trolls will grab the coins and run away instead of attacking. An interesting result of this mechanic is that villagers with excess gold in their pockets will drop some gold when hit instead of immediately giving up and abandoning the kingdom. Another use of this mechanic is dropping a lot of gold in front of a portal before your raid arrives, which will thin out the troll ranks.
