They called SBF the "JP Morgan of crypto" a few months ago. Now I guess the title is taken by CZ in this weird king-of-the-hill robber baron game.

Reminds me of that one guy who started living in the house of an expelled Palestinian family: "if I didn't steal it, someone else would have".

The issue with calling this "a win" is that Bit Boy can just refile the same lawsuit after the legal defense money has been refunded. What should be done is to countersue and get an injunctive ruling barring Bit Boy from filing the same frivolous lawsuit in the future, or, if the suit isn't actually dropped and is only being communicated that way as a ploy, to get it dismissed with prejudice. Any further lawfare harassment would then be in violation of a court order and a case of contempt of court.

I remember reading about that shitshow last year or maybe January this year in the immediate aftermath of the miner hacking scandal (hackers were spoofing hotspot locations and draining most of the network rewards). Their model never made any sense, so I'm not surprised their scheme collapsed. Meanwhile, I'm slowly working on a real solution with no team or fanfare.

The in-kind redemption with securities is not as bad as you'd initially think when you consider the scale of the token. If you wanted to redeem a billion dollars worth of tether, it would probably be impossible to facilitate that transaction over bank transfer (and definitely impractical with Federal Reserve notes), and, even if technically possible, it would be inadvisable. Large transactions like that are conducted with transferring US Treasuries or bills of exchange, which are securities.

@gildedpeahen876 that's the idea. It is a slow process without any peers.

Just wanna say, I don't think the saying is "signed his own funeral", I think it is "signed his own death warrant".

Hmm, maybe I can fill the newly opened niche in the monopoly money box token market.
2
Is it just me, or have CoffeeZilla's recent videos been cut abruptly at the end?

The entire fiat monetary system is a ponzi scheme built upon perpetually increasing debt. The reason people are becoming more accepting of ponzi schemes is that they recognize this more every day. You ought to do an episode on how fiat currencies fail, because we're living through the death throes of the global fiat regime.

@lo2740 I wish I had anyone else who could help with this project. Kind of frustrating, but demonstrable of the fact that shitcoinery is unnecessary.
2
@jobbins008 part of the problem is that it became a shitcoin project with extra frills
2
@RoolSkool I don't listen to Jim Cramer, but I still heard people saying that, so it was clearly more than just Cramer.

This dude is definitely going to jail. Hopefully the law will catch up to him soon.

To be fair, I don't think that the Monarch guy would say that the last video "exposed" them since he was pretty proud about his actions.

If they go bankrupt, then depositors should be considered creditors. The question is where in the capital structure they end up.
1
Deposits in banks are also unsecured loans. The difference is that they are insured by the FDIC.
1
Wait, this isn't so bad. Why doesn't FTX just unbankrupt themselves?
1
So they actually paid out way more than 100% of their revenues. How generous.
1
The Monarch guy isn't the hero we wanted, but he's certainly the guy we got.
1
Not your keys, not your coins. You can't hodl what you don't hold.
1
That Ted dude is providing a verbal psychedelic experience. Nuts.
1
"U aren't that guy." "Trust me, I am that guy." It's like the complete opposite of that beef Tim Pool had with a guest: "I'm not that guy." "You are that guy." * temper tantrum *

Ouu, Box Token.

The air drop thing didn't make any sense. It was by far the dumbest part of the whole scheme.
1
I wonder how much SBF paid Michael Lewis.
1
If you listen closely at 3:05, he actually says "unlike other pump-and-dump projects", not "we're not a pump-and-dump project".

Shut up and take my signature

A thermal potato engineer

@UGPVlogsLA I will consider that. Currently too many other things going on right now to work on this project. (Also need to reexamine the whole scheme to ensure it will slay Nephilim rather than create them. The last thing we need are more problems caused by out-of-control systems.)

You either die a hero, or live long enough to become a villain.

Memecoins are very dumb.
