  2. The assumption that "death is oblivion", or more precisely that experience ends at death, is an assumption without evidence. Technically, there is tentative evidence discrediting this assumption, but it is arguable how objective the statement that experience extends beyond death actually is. It is also worth noting that anesthesia does not work on all patients -- some retain a level of consciousness.

  3. Didn't that History Channel guy already demonstrate that the aliens are all basically bashful admirers of humanity showering us with gifts anonymously? That's basically the opposite of "grabby" and refutes the model pretty parsimoniously.
