  1. Wow. This has made me realize that I need to work on stride playing. Maybe I'll write an etude for it. On the topic of modern virtuosos, have you seen Roman Kim? He is basically Paganini reincarnated. He has invented techniques for playing chords on the violin using the thumb on the G string as well as his own harmonic technique that looks like a natural harmonic but plays one octave higher rather than two and can be vibratoed. Could be a good topic for a video.

  2. Pretty much every musician I know includes JS Bach in their favorites; the same cannot be said for any other composer. For me, Chaconne is my favorite violin piece; the Cello Suite is my favorite cello piece; toccata and fugue are my favorite organ piece; and one of the Brandenburg Concertos is my favorite piece of chamber music (can't decide between 3, 4, and 5).
