  1. In SWFL, I have been able to grow sweet potatoes, but I have had no luck at all with regular potatoes. I tried several varieties, but I haven't been able to figure it out. The best producers in all of my agricultural/permacultural experimentation have been cowpeas, okra, and pigeon peas. Everything else was pretty meager, obnoxious, weak to pests, or a combination. But then again, I was working with suburban nonsense soils that I had tried to rejuvenate with compost, mulch, and huegelkultur.
