  1. Actual magic is either disorienting or downright disturbing to interact with. Idk if you meant the ambiguous world of numinous phenomena when you said "magic", but I figured I'd give my 2ยข anyway. I just finished driving across the continent because some magical events transpired; it has been a bit of an ordeal, and the journey is less than half done. I'll be back home in Florida after another week or so, making this a 3 week journey that originally began as a 1 week plan. Real magic is quite disruptive, but that is kind of the point: if you don't want a massive change in your life (or at least the options for massive change), leave the numinous alone and hope it reciprocates. But if you want to see miracles, they are waiting to be made manifest. Material reality is just the collected patterns of information that sit on top of dreams.
