  1. All Orthodox people I know in America are pro-Russian and see the Ecumenical Patriarch as illegitimate because of the jurisdictional conflict and schism between Constantinople and Moscow. They believe that the Moscow Patriarchate is special and important because they allegedly preserved the Orthodox faith (even though it continued to exist in the places from which the MP founders fled). They are also anti-West, anti-humanist, anti-free speech for anyone but themselves, and desire theocracy like the good ol' days of the Inquisition, just with them in charge instead of the Roman Catholics. And they'll deny it as soon as they have finished espousing it. The Orthodox are a bundle of contradictions -- the cognitive dissonance is what feeds their egregore. I'm lucky to have gotten out of its grasp, but I didn't get away from it unscathed. It wants to bring about a new era of darkness and suppression.
