  1. Signature bank seemed more like a targeted takedown to squeeze the stablecoin/cryptodollar connection to legacy fiat. The current administration is far less friendly to cryptodollar money market funds than the Fed.

  2. Technically, the 2008 Global Financial Crisis was triggered by subprime mortgage collapses leading to MBS collapses and unmet collateral calls in funding markets, but there were other forms of reckless profligacy carried out by the international banking cartel that also contributed.

  3. I'm with Lyn Alden on this one. Banks are likely to be socialized and treated as utilities this decade. I doubt there will be much opportunity for profit in bank equity.

  4. SVB did not have a Chief Risk Officer from February 2022 until January 2023. They did not hedge their duration risk with interest rate swaps as would be prudent.
