Tardigrades die all the time. You severely mischaracterized tardigrade research by saying that "you couldn't kill one if you tried" -- it would be correct to say that they could not be forced into extinction, but that is very different from what was conveyed. All the extremophile research done on tardigrades has measured survival rates less than 100%. It is incredible that 20% iirc of tardigrades exposed to the vacuum and cosmic radiation reanimated with just water and continued reproducing. "You couldn't kill one if you tried" is grossly wrong.
