  1. This argument is historically uninformed and has nothing to do with what is actually in evidence in the texts and archaeological artifacts of Israel and Judah. Yhwh is a male because he was a son of El, the Canaanite high deity (Psalm 82); he was also a warrior storm god like Baal (the hymn in Job, which is an adaptation of a hymn of Baal). After Yhwh usurped the divine council and threw out his siblings in the Israelite religious myths, he then usurped and was syncretized with his father, El, and married his father's wife, Asherah. Asherah was then removed from Judaite worship as part of the cult centralization program under King Josiah. This stuff about children growing up fatherless in modern America has nothing to do with the historic reality of the development of the mythology of this deity. It is utter nonsense.

  2. More importantly, it has literally nothing to do with the historic reality of the development of the Hebrew deity and surrounding mythology. "Go slaughter all the women and children, but save the virgin girls for yourself" isn't exactly good fatherly advice.
