  2. The best argument for Bitcoin price appreciation is the limited supply of coins and the unlimited supply of new fiat currency. The Federal Reserve Note is worth less than 98¢ per dollar because they have realized losses in excess of twice their capital; if you disregard their losses, they have 200x leverage. Fiat is a dead man walking.

  5.  @ΣτελιοςΠεππας  I know what deflation is. I have spent thousands of hours studying this topic. Deflation would be a concern if the rulers were not hellbent on papering over every deflationary shock with exponentially more inflation.

  6.  @johnnypopstar  you won't find anyone else in the world who has done the calculations. I figured this out using the Federal Reserve's H.4.1. publication. Go learn something and stop posting ignorant comments; that's your prescription.

  7.  @hedgehog3180  the monetary functions of store of value and medium of exchange have been separate since before the gold standard was abandoned. For the last 60 years, Treasury debt securities have been the global store of value while the dollar banking system has been the medium of exchange. Bitcoin can increase while TSYs decline without disrupting the use of the dollar as a medium of exchange, and I think that is quite likely given the exponentially increasing debt issuance and the exponentially decreasing BTC issuance.

  8.  @E_D___  Bitcoin is a self-sovereign system. There is no bank owing you your bitcoins that can fail and impose losses. There is no government printing infinite bitcoins to pay for their deficit spending. If you secure your bitcoins correctly, nobody can steal them. And in the long run, bitcoins increase in value compared to fiat. Those are the reasons to accept bitcoins as payment.
