  1. Prophecy is not a faith-based prediction. Prophecy is a precognitive experience. Believing in someone's prophetic experience is a matter of faith, but there is no faith involved on the part of a real prophet -- shit just happens, and the prophet just observes. Edit: prophets tend to spur others to action, so in that sense there is faith on the part of the prophet that his vision is trustworthy. An oracle, on the other hand, doesn't care to persuade anyone.
