  1. At the speeds that warp drives propel ships in this game, wouldn't it be possible for infrared light from dimly glowing dust particles be blue-shifted enough to become this "space confetti"? That being said, the star's light did not seem as blue-shifted as it should have been, so it might just be an aesthetic design choice rather than potential representation of physics.
