@victoriaalvarez1557 exactly the Brits and Canadians was coming up the east side whilst the yanks was still pinned down on the beach at Anzio causing the germans to pull forces from the contained bridge head to meet the threat, British commandos and SAS, SBS in la Spezia and Canucks battle for Ortona which was classed a Mini stalingrad, only after many of German units was moved to combat these threats, mark Clark was able to break out, but instead, consolidating and Mopping up all those he had bypassed to stop them regrouping, he made a beeline for Rome all for the cameras and Propaganda, which did let the germans regroup and consolidate themselves leading to many unnecessary loss of allied lives..
