@baileygregory9192 Dresden and Hamburg was the two main Marshalling yards throughout germany to draw in then funnel troops and machinery west or east?? , its typical of germans to put them in the middle of those cities surrounded by civilians and i wonder why,even though it in direct contradiction to the geneva convention... Not only that!!, the civilians shouldnt have been so stupid to believe their leaders, "no bombers will reach our cities through our unbeatable air defences or call me MEYER"some certain big shot once babbled on radio!! , so instead of the population going to the air raid shelters and underground systems as the Brits did every time the siren blew, they did nothing but stay put in their homes and factory's thinking that night fighters and flak battery would sort it, well they thought wrong didnt they...if anyone is to blame then germans should blame their own leaders and the propaganda apparatus of the time...
