There is evidence of CO's ordering prisoners to be shot, ive seen a american made documentary where a soldier being interviewed was ordered to shoot POW's and when he refused he in turn was threatened he'd be shot and another was threatened with a court marshal and told it would result in the same thing, take them to the rear was a by word for take them out of site and shoot them, some didnt even have to be ordered to, and just took it upon themselves even knowing the higher chain of their command was aware of such actions, top of list reasons the hitler youth fort so hard with americans and didnt surrender is because they knew thered be shot for being brain washed kids not fanatics as they was deemed and what was drummed into every american soldier which didnt help their survival rate..

Wasnt one of the reasons the ss involved in the malmedy masacre had their death sentence's commuted to life, because americans had done the same thing at bergen belson... There's even some film footage of two germans surrendering with their hands up being mowed down with a volley of fire...
