  1. I don't think it is as simple as that. They aren't doing this because it makes money. They are doing this to subvert culture. Just like that one guy from Insomniac describing what they were doing with Spider-Man 2. "giving the audience what they want, while sneaking in stuff they may not want now, but will accept eventually" or some sheet.
