@iangascoigne8231 It adds clarity to the situation and explains why he refused to surrender. And why the officer felt compelled to fire. We still have people asking “Why didn’t they move out the way” or “Why not give chase”. Questioning not only the shot fired, but the whole operation to detain him.

It’s not irrelevant because it explains his actions that night.

@Trax777 No, when considering the repercussions that individual could face, they should never be named.
2
@iangascoigne8231 It’s relevant because it shows why Kaba was non compliant. He was facing a considerably lengthy prison sentence due to his past behaviour. That’s why he was intent on escaping. Jury should have known this.
2
@iangascoigne8231 Well no, because “reports of a vehicle involved in a shooting” is incredibly vague. If they knew the background, they would understand that the police were investigating some very dangerous individuals involved in a gang dispute. And that they intended to attack another rival. Obviously that is substantial information to how the situation came about.
2
@iangascoigne8231 It’s not though. Context matters. After examining the evidence, the prosecution and defence will essentially try to persuade the jury with a theory on what happened and why it happened. The prosecution put forward a baseless theory of the Officer being short tempered and shooting in anger and frustration. That was printed in papers as if it was fact. This evidence of Kabba’s past wouldn’t paint a baseless theory, it would explain exactly what motivated Kaba to behave as dangerously as he did. And why the police might have been as determined to stop him.

@iangascoigne8231 If the context is relevant, which it is, it should be included. Whether that sways the opinion on the Jury is irrelevant. And the only thing Kaba is victim too, is his own stupidity.

A judge allowed his name to be released. And his previous behaviour explains his refusal to cooperate with police, and his intent to escape regardless of the consequences.

They were investigating Kaba’s gang and its ongoing rivalry with another gang. So it was relevant really.

@TheMarkwolfie As you stated, he wasn’t aware it was Kaba, however, adding context of the investigation into this criminal gang, does give us an idea on why Kaba was so intent on escaping at any cost. The lack of concern around potentially injuring an officer, and the fact police were aware that they were dealing with a highly dangerous individual, and acted accordingly.

@iangascoigne8231 copy and paste job?? Can’t actually explain why I’m wrong…
1
@Trax777 Having the criminals personally target you because the judge revealed your identity.
1
@iangascoigne8231 I haven’t said it’s not relevant, I’m saying his past criminal history is relevant. You’re getting yourself all confused ian.
1
@iangascoigne8231 So why did you say the opposite??
1
@iangascoigne8231 Okay Ian, I will forget it 👍

It’s not separate from the situation, it explains why he was intent on escaping and provides an alternative explanation to the “freaked out/ didn’t realise they were police” narrative that the apologists are using.
